School Infrastructure Development

The institution was established in 1951 in the western suburbs of Mumbai, by a group of people with very modest means, who had then migrated from South India (Kerala and Tamil Nadu). Starting off from makeshift classrooms in a shared community centre with a handful of children, the institution today imparts quality education at a highly affordable cost from preprimary to SSC to about 1900 students, with all the amenities and infrastructure.

The school receives Government Funding as a grant in Aid, which at present only covers about 50% of the total Salary bill of the Institution. Students from economically challenged backgrounds are not in a position to pay regular fees and the Govt Aid is also dependent on the fact that the school does not charge regular fees to them.

The COVID Pandemic has rendered many parents incomes, reducing the already strained resources of the school. The school structure is 70 years old; a huge amount is required for maintenance and essential repairs, both internal and Structural. The school has so far only renovated 3 classrooms out of the total of 38 required.
