Mental Health

Mental health refers to a person’s emotional, psychological and social well-being. It impacts how one thinks, feels and acts. Because of the broad scope and impact of mental Health, at Landmark we refer to mental health as “behavioural health.” And it’s a strong part of our care model.

It is an unfortunate fact that India ranks as one of the countries with the highest student suicide rates in the world. At least one student commits suicide every hour according to reports provided by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). Mental health in general is a neglected concept, let alone the mental health of college students. The NCRB in 2015 presented data which reflected 8,934 cases of student suicide. In the five years leading to that, 39,775 students had committed suicide in India.

We believe,  “India is a young country. We are all set to have a huge population between the age group of 16 and 25. They struggle with increasing competition, internet, mobile addiction, drug use, and a constant tussle between traditional and modern. We are staring at an increased number of depression and suicide cases,”
