Back to School Campaign- A CSR Initiative of Goldensource in partnership with Chandrmohan Foundation
Phase 1- STEAM Kits Distribution in Aanganwadis, Pune
Amidst this pandemic, education has been significantly affected. At the bottom of this lies Early Childhood Education and Care. Being unable to attend Anganwadis, these children have been forced to stay home for over a year. That has resulted in creating a gap in their early learning and development. However, during this time various organizations have taken up space of front-line warriors. To help young children from economically underprivileged backgrounds continue their learning in the absence of school - Chandramohan Foundation with Golden Source have led this CSR Initiative of providing“Back to School Kits” to children and Anganwadis in Pune.
With the help of the Chandramohan Foundation, around 260 Back to School Kits were distributed to over 130 Anganwadis, impacting 2000+ children and provide them with aceess to innovative learning methods.
These STEAM “Back to School Kit”s contain three different games, designed and conceptualised by Imagimake in collaboration with Goldensource and Chandramohan Foundation are built especially for Indian children. These kits have proven to be beneficial for the childrens' holistic development through innovative learning methods.
WHY STEAM KITS
A STEAM Kit is a take-home set of something to play with that fits in one of five categories: science, technology, engineering, arts, or math. During the current pandemic it is of utmost importance that children learn in the most innovative methods, to make the process of learning more inclusive and engaging. The STEAM kits gave a chance to these children to gamify the process of learning and build knowledge within the various streams of STEAM education from their homes.
· Impacted over 1000 children between the age of 5-6 years with the help of the kits
· Provided insights about play-learning and its impact on a child to over 100 Anganwadi Teachers
· Provided an impetus for better educational growth among children
· Support the Anganwadi Karyakartas to be able to better facilitate education
· Introduce innovative methods for gaining knowledge within the Anganwadis
