To take forward the STEM mission of 2017, the year 2018 took us to 6 cities across India and 3115 girls from 107 schools. With the same objective, same partners and same methodology, we increased our reach from 1327 girls in 2017 to 3115 girls in 2018.
From October 2018 and December 2018, with our generous partners, Covestro India Private Limited, we conducted the STEM Workshop for Girls in Mumbai, Calicut, Delhi, Dharampur, Goa and Nagpur. Eminent female scientists from across the country were a part of the motivational sessions for girls.
At the end of the sessions, the girls were seen to truly believe the STEM Workshop motto of 'Anything is Possible!'
As per a recent survey by World Economic Forum, women make on 14.3% of science researchers in India.
With these low numbers of women in science and allied fields, CMF, alongwith Covestro India, with an objective to increase the number of women in Science, organized a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) Workshop for girls at Nehru Science Centre, Worli, Mumbai in association with Greenlight for Girls (G4G)
The workshop was scheduled from 8th to 15th November, 2017 and impacted girls aged between 11 to 15 years from different schools in and near Mumbai.
Prominent women scientists from India and Germany addressed the girls after which the girls would get to do hands-on STEM experiments designed especially for the program.
1327 girls were impacted through this 7 day workshop where the girls were motivated to pursue STEM with a motto ‘Anything is Possible!’
